ALBERTA NORWEG is a global technical services company with more than 25 years of experience led by D. Santiago de Taranco Carvajal. It is made up of professionals with diverse experiences and extensive training, all sharing the ambition to develop a diversified company, increasing services from real estate consulting and assets in profitability to logistics and infrastructure management. ALBERTA NORWEG's strength lies in its constant work, where it has been able to implement its knowledge in all phases of the management life cycle, from the conception of the idea and its design, to the last task in the material execution and administration of the asset.

The road to Odoo

In Alberta's case, there was no lack of reasons to decide that they needed a change in management. The lack of integration between the different softwares they were using was a major flaw in the company, having all the data dispersed caused inconsistency in the information and therefore a great difficulty when it came to making decisions. If we also add the impossibility of generating reports and a tool to analyze data, they observed that they were losing opportunities for growth and improvement.

However, that was not all, the lack of automation in administrative and operational processes, as well as the lack of a real-time view of the stock was reducing the productivity of the team, due to repetitive manual tasks that ultimately increased the company's costs.

To finish the decision, they also found inefficiencies in customer relations, the lack of centralization implied a greater difficulty to record interactions with customers, thus hindering the opportunities to provide the best possible service.

Once they had identified all the areas for improvement, they saw the impossibility of being able to grow organically with the systems they were already using; on the one hand, the lack of integration between them and on the other hand, the increase in complexity and operating costs made this option unfeasible.

There was no doubt, Odoo was their solution

Alberta is a great example of a successful system implementation. Organized, phased, focused on long-term success, in other words, following the Odoo Quickstart methodology, carried out by our team of expert consultants.

We often find that change is difficult, particularly for employees accustomed to certain processes, so it is always necessary to dedicate the time and space required for adaptation. In Alberta's case, they organized briefings on the benefits of Odoo and the transformations in daily operations, as well as assigning team leaders to be change agents and facilitate communication and resolution of doubts, making the transition to Odoo as efficient as possible, a great example of good practice.

The implementation was divided into phases, starting with a progressive implementation of the modules according to the company's needs, following the Quickstart methodology. The initial planning phase was to establish objectives, essential to advance to the design phase, where we started the configuration of modules to adapt them to the needs and processes, a necessary work carried out between our consulting team and Alberta's professionals.

This was followed by the development phase, in which the necessary customizations were introduced and moved to the testing phase, making sure that all the modules were working properly. Once the testing was completed, the training phase based on training sessions for the employees made the arrival of the deployment phase a success, as Alberta could now work with Odoo independently. Likewise, there is always the post-implementation support:

Post-implementation support was essential to ensure that all users were fully adapted and could take full advantage of Odoo's functionalities.

Thanks to the implementation done, all the initial problems were solved. Fragmentation of information was eliminated, facilitating informed and strategic decision making. Automation of repetitive tasks increased efficiency and has enabled focus on higher value activities. Real-time stock control has optimized processes. Having tools to evaluate company performance enables data-driven decisions, as well as the ability to manage strengthened customer relationships thanks to a robust CRM. All combined with the scalability provided by Odoo, which has allowed them to grow organically.

The best possible outcome

Odoo has brought a significant change in several aspects for Alberta, most notably changes in their operations and business culture.

In terms of operations they find three pressure points released with Odoo: total integration, automation and efficiency, and real-time monitoring. Three key pillars, the integration of processes from the initiation of a sale to accounting has facilitated cross-departmental collaboration, duplicate information and achieved operational consistency.

The reduction in human error and increased productivity brought about by process automation has allowed workers to focus on activities that add the most value to Alberta. Coupled with the ability to monitor all operations in real time, it has given them the ability to react almost immediately to changes in the market.

It has improved our responsiveness and made us more agile and competitive.

In terms of corporate culture, thanks to Odoo, they now have an objective and strategic decision-making based on accurate and real-time data. Thus, teams base their strategies on detailed analysis. This has brought greater collaboration between teams, sharing responsibilities and increasing cooperation. Finally, the implementation of the system has required training and skills development, so Alberta now has a more competent and technologically skilled team, as well as increased morale.

Alberta does not hesitate in their response, they would recommend the implementation of Odoo strongly. They highlight several aspects, including: the integration and centralization of the tool, the automation of processes, the scalability, the flexibility and customization of the platform that allows it to adapt to any business, the data-driven decision making, the cost-benefit ratio, the Odoo community and support, and the continuous improvements.

Alberta has been able to grow organically and offer a better service than it already had thanks to the implementation of Odoo. They do not want to leave without highlighting the value of the Odoo team as well as the professionalism of the consulting team in charge of the implementation of the system in Alberta.
