Manufacturing Process Setup in Odoo

1. Creating Byproducts without Operations:
   • You can create byproducts directly in the Bill of Materials (BOM) even without defining operations or workstations.
   • Byproducts will be produced as part of the manufacturing process once you confirm and validate the manufacturing order.
   • This process will work without issues, so you don’t need to worry about adding operations at this stage.
2. Consumables vs. Stockable Products:
   • For the SET-of-cut-cables, we will mark it as a Consumable. This means it won't be stocked in the inventory, and no stock increase will be triggered when it is used.
   • The individual cable lengths (e.g., 1m-blue-cable, 1m-red-cable) will be marked as Stockable Products, so they will appear in inventory and can be tracked in stock levels.
3. How This Setup Works:
   • When you manufacture the SET-of-cut-cables, the system will treat it as consumed, and stock levels for this item won't change.
   • The different lengths of cable (like 1m-blue-cable, etc.) will be produced as stockable items, and Odoo will manage their inventory accordingly.
4. Advantages of This Approach:
   • This allows you to maintain accurate stock records for the individual cables while keeping the SET-of-cut-cables out of inventory.
   • You don’t need to worry about workstations or operations right now, as everything will be handled in the BOM and manufacturing orders.
5. Future Scalability:
   • As you scale the process and introduce workstations and operations, Odoo will easily integrate these changes without disrupting the existing workflow.
