In today’s business landscape, managing operations with multiple disconnected software tools can create inefficiencies and blind spots that hinder growth. Elevated Trading faced similar challenges until they found Odoo. By unifying their operations under one integrated platform, they gained unprecedented efficiency, visibility, and scalability.

Founded in Texas in January 2020, Elevated Trading was born out of an industry need for better consistency and reliability in wholesale hemp supply chains. With a background in sales, they saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between suppliers and retailers, providing high-quality solutions to national brands and multi-location retailers. They spent months building and strengthening critical industry relationships across the farming, manufacturing, and testing sectors.

Their commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction quickly set them apart. Elevated Trading not only supplies hemp products (edibles, smokables, flower) but also offers value-added services like co-packing and private labeling, taking the operational burden off their clients so they can focus on selling to their customers.

“We knew we could bring a level of professionalism to the industry and really optimize the supply chain for our customers.”

The challenges of a fragmented tech stack

Like many growing businesses, Elevated Trading initially relied on a patchwork of software solutions to manage different aspects of their operations. They used HubSpot for CRM, a separate wholesale ordering platform for quote-to-cash transactions, QuickBooks Online for accounting, and relied heavily on Google Sheets for inventory tracking and reporting.

This fragmented system created challenges. Data transfers between different platforms were cumbersome, leading to inefficiencies and inconsistencies. The lack of integration made it difficult to maintain a seamless customer experience and caused unnecessary delays in order fulfillment, financial reporting, and inventory management.

“The customer experience and ensuring our data were synchronized between accounting, wholesale ordering, and fulfillment was very challenging for us. Bringing all of this into one software was a big initiative for us.”

One system, endless possibilities

Cody had heard about Odoo from a friend in the industry who had successfully launched their company on the platform. When Elevated Trading began evaluating ERPs, they explored solutions like Salesforce and considered staying with HubSpot for CRM. However, the lack of inventory control and manufacturing process integration in these platforms led them to choose Odoo.

"We prioritized the manufacturing features and the ability to track BOMs and manufacturing orders. That’s what made Odoo stand out among the alternatives," Cody shares."

Once implemented, Odoo transformed Elevated Trading’s operations in multiple ways:

Centralized data & visibility: By having all business data in one system, Elevated Trading gained full visibility from procurement to fulfillment. This allowed them to develop meaningful KPIs, track performance, and make informed decisions in real-time.

Inventory improvement: With multiple warehouses and customer-specific storage locations, keeping track of inventory was a challenge. Odoo’s scalability allowed them to seamlessly transfer products between locations without losing count, improving accuracy and efficiency.

Manufacturing management: The ability to customize bills of materials (BOMs) and optimize the manufacturing workflow streamlined their production process. This ensured that every step, from raw materials to finished goods, was efficiently managed and documented.

Cost analysis for better profitability: One of Cody’s favorite Odoo features is the cost analysis tool, which has helped them identify inefficiencies in their workflow and refine their purchase order process. By improving visibility, they’ve been able to tighten margins and optimize pricing strategies.

“Having real-time cost analysis and visibility into our operations has been a game changer. It’s allowed us to refine our processes and improve profitability."

What is next?

Elevated Trading is focused on expanding its strategic business, particularly in co-packing and private label services. They anticipate growing their manufacturing client base, further leveraging Odoo’s capabilities to enhance efficiency and reporting.

Their Dallas headquarters will remain their central hub, but they plan to optimize their multi-warehouse operations to improve supply chain agility and streamline fulfillment.

On the technology side, Elevated Trading is investing heavily in data visualization and dashboards to further enhance operational insights. Additionally, they are exploring the integration of Odoo’s Sign app to simplify contract management for statements of work and purchase agreements.

Elevated Trading’s success story showcases how Odoo’s comprehensive suite of applications can transform business operations, improve visibility, and drive growth. If your business is facing similar challenges with fragmented systems, inefficiencies, or lack of real-time data insights, it’s time to explore what Odoo can do for you.
